Shades of Fear (Anthology)

Posted by

Coming out later this year… an anthology based on Fear, called “Shades of Fear”  I am editing with a bunch of new, indie authors.  Here is just a small sampling of the fear quotes scattered throughout the book.  Hope you will look for it and enjoy. Keep watching this space, I will keep you updated on the progress.

Fears are stories we tell ourselves
Fears are stories we tell ourselves
“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”
Franklin D. Roosevelt

“Face your deepest fear and you will see that you have always been more powerful than it ever was.”

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

―Marianne Williamson

Fear is a question: What are you afraid of, and why? Just as the seed of health is in illness, because illness contains information, your fears are a treasure house of self-knowledge if you explore them.

-Marilyn Ferguson

“Do one thing every day that scares you.”

―Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962)

“There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.”

― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”

― Nelson Mandela (1918-2013)

“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.”

― Marie Curie (1867-1934)

Nyctophilia (n.) love of darkness or night, finding relaxation or comfort in the darkness.

I will have a story in this anthology “Shades of Fear” – rather than fiction, my story is a memoir based on my experience during cancer treatment. The stories in this anthology cover many different shades of fear and between the stories will be quotations some of which a shown here by our editor Dara Rochlin.
